First grade has been studying rocks! We have learned the different types of rocks. Do you know what they are? We have examined them up close and far away! We took a field trip to the gem mine in Hendersonville, where we got to sift for all kinds of ROCKS! We explored rocks in the classroom. We ended our unit by becoming geologists and excavating for "rocks" in chocolate chip cookies. If you want to know about rocks.........just ask a first grader!!
