Mr. "V" visited our class to read the book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" We decided to turn it into a STEM activity. The challenge was to make a sled to hold as many "presents" as possible. Groups were given two candy canes, a piece of cardstock, a ribbon to pull the sled, tape and as many cubes (presents) as the sled could hold. Then they had to fill the sled with presents, pull it five feet on a flat surface, up a small incline and then up a steeper incline. The winning team was able to move 146 presents in their sled!
