Trading Coins In class, we are learning about coin values and
equivalencies. Together, examine coins and ask your child to tell you
about each one. Discuss how much each coin is worth in pennies
(1 nickel is worth 5 pennies, 1 dime is worth 10 pennies). Talk about
equivalencies.
“Here are two dimes. How much is this worth? Can you find
another way to make 20¢?” “Let’s trade coins. I’ll give you
2 nickels for 1 dime.”
