About my classroom:
Welcome to fourth grade!! I am very excited about my class this year! I joined the staff of Sand Hill-Venable in 2008. I believe in creating a sense of community in my classroom. A place where everyone feels safe to be themselves and learn. I have high expectations for this class, and feel certain that we can reach them.

About Me:
I have lived in Asheville most of my life, and I love it. There is no where I would rather be. I graduated from Enka High School in 1998. So I have been in this district for a while. I went to UNCA and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2004. I love Psychology, and feel having that background helps me a great deal in the classroom every day. After working for a little while I decided what I really wanted to be doing was working with kids. I love to learn so what better profession to be in than teaching children. That is how I ended up here. I went back to school at Western Carolina University and got my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I feel I have really found what I love to do, and I am so grateful that I get the opportunity to do it here!

I just got married to my husband Tommy this summer, which was very exciting! In my free time I love to travel, hike, run, and do anything outside. :-)

I am excited to start the school year, and can't wait to see where it takes us!
